RACTF (Really Awesome Capture the Flag) is a student-run, extensive, open-source capture-the-flag event.
More simply, we run a set of various cybersecurity challenges that build up in difficulty, for the sole purposes of having fun and learning new skills.
In a capture the flag event (unlike what might come to mind) you don't all meet up and run around in a field - as fun as that would be! Instead, we publish a series of challenges, each with a hidden piece of text within it - the "flag". Your aim is to solve the challenges using various techniques and find this "flag". By presenting the flag to the site, you are awarded points based on the challenge's difficulty level.
As a team, we have continued to develop the entire platform this year! Not only can you expect a challenging and enjoyable problem-solving environment, written with love and care, but also accessible activities that everyone can participate in.
We start with basic concepts (so that core skills can be learnt if needs be) which transition into more complex and advanced challenges, ensuring that everyone has something that they can enjoy.
We have challenges in many different fields of cybersecurity:
We are a small team of A-level and Degree-level students, with a shared interest in cybersecurity. We have all worked on this platform in our free time and are confident in its ability to give you an amazing experience.
